Judiciary

The Supreme Court comprises of the Chief Justice and five resident judges. The court is also assisted with its workload by additional judges (each of whose primary commission is as a judge of the Federal Court or another State or Territory Supreme Court) and acting judges. Acting judges are appointed by the Executive for periods of up to two years at a time.
