Construction work near the courts building
There is extensive construction work underway around the Supreme Court and Magistrates Court. Access to the court building will be maintained during this time, and there will be wayfinding signs to assist visitors.
London Circuit west between Northbourne Avenue and Edinburgh Avenue is currently closed for light rail works. The former car park in front of the Magistrates Court and the vacant block between the courts building and Northbourne Avenue are closed for Block 40 works. There are also rolling closures associated with the light rail and Lyric Theatre works. Instructions and maps for getting to the court by car or on foot are available on this page.

Getting to the courts by car
London Circuit west between Northbourne Avenue and Edinburgh Avenue is currently closed to regular traffic. Detours and signage are in place.

Parking options
The car park in front of the Magistrates Court is now closed. We recommend visitors park in the One City Hill multi-story underground carpark at the Southern end of Knowles Place, near Edinburgh Avenue.

The closest disabled parking options are in Hobart Place and the One City Hill multi-story underground carpark at the Southern end of Knowles Place, near Edinburgh Avenue. We are unable to offer disability parking options closer to the court at this time.

Getting to the courts on foot
London Circuit west between Northbourne Avenue and Edinburgh Avenue is currently closed, and there are also route closures related to the Lyric Theatre and Block 40 works. Pedestrian and wheelchair access will be maintained along and across London Circuit, and signage is in place directing pedestrian to safe routes.
Pedestrians should note:
- the Knowles Place cul de sac is a one-way road, and there is no pedestrian access into Civic from this road
- the pedestrian route across Northbourne to the Theatre Lane carpark is closed
- the footpath along Northbourne from Vernon Circle to London Circle is also closed.
