Construction work near the courts building

There is extensive construction work underway around the Supreme Court and Magistrates Court. Access to the court building will be maintained during this time, and there will be wayfinding signs to assist visitors.

What’s going on?

London Circuit light rail works

London Circuit west between Northbourne Avenue and Edinburgh Avenue is now closed to regular traffic.

  • Fencing has been installed in the area.
  • Pedestrian and wheelchair access will be maintained along and across London Circuit.

Block 40 construction works

Block 40 comprises the car park in front of the Magistrates Court and the vacant block between the courts building and Northbourne Avenue. Works on Block 40 will commence in March.

  • From 31 March 2025, the car park in front of the Magistrates Court will be partially blocked off. At least half the car parks should be available.
  • Disabled and permit parking in front of the courts building will be temporarily relocated to the Knowles Place cul de sac from May 2025.
  • The car park in front of the Magistrates Court will close in July 2025.

How do I get to court?

If you are coming to the Supreme Court or the Magistrates Court, please allow extra time to navigate safely. Check the map showing road closures and take note of any changes to the normal access routes.
